1977 NYC Blackout: At Macy's with his mother, upper floor. City went dark. People stealing off the floor, running down dead escalators. Quasi-riots. He was a child witnessing societal collapse in real time.
1988 Tompkins Square Park Riots: Present on the Lower East Side during the police riot/eviction battle. Direct witness to state violence vs community resistance.
2001 September 11: Present in NYC. Direct witness.
Three defining NYC catastrophes across three decades — each one a system-level failure observed from inside.

High-level concepts of managing computer networks
Formal technical education that legitimized the hacking-era intuitions

George Hotz (GeoHot) unlocked the first iPhone to work on any carrier (not just AT&T US)
International businessmen wanted the unlocked iPhones
The IRC Channel: Niko's friend flew in from Nigeria; he was on the IRC channel when GeoHot shared the unlock recipe live
Friend got the code, passed it to Niko
They commercialized it immediately

Was on the neurochemical stack → maximum neuroplasticity

IT ALL CLICKED — the framework emerged
