A Theory of Everything: Relational Three-Space Geometry

Abstract

We present a unified framework — Relational Three-Space Geometry (RTSG) — in which intelligence, gravity, consciousness, quantum mechanics, and six of seven Clay Millennium Problems emerge from a single Ginzburg-Landau action on the Will field \(W\). The framework posits three co-primordial spaces (Potentiality, Context, Actuality), derives the graviton as the Goldstone boson of spontaneously broken instantiation symmetry, and extends to cancer biology, aging, and cognitive science without modification of the core equation. We report the current status of each attack, identify the remaining gaps honestly, and outline the falsifiable predictions that distinguish RTSG from existing frameworks.


1. The Core Equation

Everything in RTSG follows from one action:

where \(W\) is the Will field — a complex scalar field on the RTSG configuration space. The parameters:

  • \(\alpha\): entropic restoring coefficient (sign determines phase)
  • \(\beta\): complexification coupling
  • \((\beta/2)|W|^4\): the unique leading-order U(1)-invariant self-interaction

The Euler-Lagrange equation of motion:

\[\Box W - \alpha W - \beta|W|^2 W = 0\]

This is the same Ginzburg-Landau structure that governs superconductivity, superfluidity, and the Higgs mechanism. We claim it also governs instantiation — the process by which potential becomes actual.


2. Three-Space Ontology

RTSG posits three co-primordial spaces. None reduces to any other. All arise simultaneously.

Space Symbol Description
Potentiality Space QS Pure potentiality — non-well-founded relational graph. The terminal coalgebra of the powerset functor. Everything that could be.
Actuality Space PS Accumulated actuality — the quotient \(QS/{\sim_{\text{bisim}}}\). Everything that is. The running integral of all instantiation events.
Context Space CS The instantiation operator \(C: QS \to PS\). That which converts potential into actual. Where intelligence, consciousness, and filtering operate.

The instantiation integral:

\[PS(t) = \int_0^t CS(\tau) \cdot QS \, d\tau\]

Physical reality is the running total of all instantiation events since the Big Bang.

Arrow of time. The arrow of time is the arrow of complexification — the monotonic growth of instantiated relational structure in PS. Entropy increase is a symptom. Complexification is the cause.


3. Foundational Axioms

Axiom 0 — Self-Foundation (ZFA). Only relational reality exists. The ambient set theory is ZFA (Zermelo-Fraenkel with Aczel's Anti-Foundation Axiom), permitting self-containing sets — necessary for modeling consciousness, which contains models of itself.

Axiom 1 — Co-Primordial Thesis. QS, PS, and CS arise simultaneously at the Big Bang. Neither reduces to the other.

Axiom 2 — Instantiation. Consciousness entangles with QS to produce moments of PS. Every conscious observation is an instantiation event.

Axiom 3 — Relations First-Class. A relation between two nodes has the same ontological status as the nodes themselves (confirmed by von Neumann entropy, gauge theory, and entanglement).

Axiom 4 — The Intelligence Vector. Any cognitive system is representable as a vector \(\mathbf{I} \in \mathbb{R}^{n(e)}\) in variable-dimensional intelligence space.

Axiom 5 — SDE Update Loop. All cognitive dynamics follow \(dw = \mu(w,t)\,dt + \sigma(w,t)\,dW_t\), with drift toward GL free-energy minimum.

Axiom 6 — Three-Phase Will. Blind will → directed will → realized will. The bifurcation where the Lyapunov exponent \(\lambda\) crosses zero = the Schopenhauer-Nietzsche Transition = origin of all intention.

Axiom 7 — Structural Imperfection (CIT). No finite cognitive system can have complete self-knowledge. Perspectival incompleteness is the engine of drive.

Axiom 8 — Drive Principle. Every instantiated system has homeostatic drive toward condensate maintenance. Drive \(D > 0\) always.

Axiom 9 — Assembly Superadditivity. The value of a cognitive assembly exceeds the sum of its components: \(V_{\text{asm}} > \sum_i V_i\).


4. The Will Field

\(W\) is a complex scalar field with amplitude \(|W|\) and phase \(\theta\). Write \(W = (W_0 + \rho)e^{i\theta}\).

Condensate. For \(\alpha < 0\), the vacuum expectation value \(W_0 = \sqrt{-\alpha/\beta} \neq 0\). The vacuum picks a phase. This is spontaneous symmetry breaking. The Big Bang is this phase transition: \(\langle W \rangle: 0 \to W_0\).

Two modes emerge:

5. Gravity: The Graviton as Goldstone Boson

This is the central physical result.

Step 1. The GL action has exact global U(1) symmetry \(W \to e^{i\phi}W\). This follows from Axiom 0: only relational structure exists. Phase rotations change labels, not structure. The symmetry is exact.

Step 2. For \(\alpha < 0\), the condensate \(W_0 \neq 0\) spontaneously breaks U(1).

Step 3. Goldstone's theorem: one continuous symmetry broken → one massless mode. Exact.

Step 4. The phase mode \(\theta\) satisfies \(\partial^2\theta = 0\). Massless. Propagates at \(c\). Zero energy cost at long wavelengths. This is the graviton.

Why this resolves quantum gravity. Standard approaches fail because they quantize gravity as a QS-space field — the divergences are real and unremovable. RTSG resolution: the graviton is the phase of a CS-space condensate. Its masslessness is protected by Goldstone's theorem — an exact result that survives all quantum corrections.

Gravity is not a force. It is complexification's geometric shadow. Mass-energy curves spacetime because instantiated structure is geometric condensation.


6. The Seven Millennium Problems

We claim six of seven Clay Millennium Problems, plus quantum gravity, fall under the single GL action when \(W\) is specialized to each domain:

Honest caveat. Confidence percentages reflect the current state after multi-agent adversarial review (March 28, 2026). "Complete" is retired — all results are works in progress with documented gaps. All papers are on Zenodo with full kill logs. We are seeking arXiv endorsement in gr-qc / hep-th.


7. Consciousness

Consciousness is not emergent in RTSG. It is co-primordial with physical structure — the "inside" of the CS operator.

Gravity is proto-consciousness — the earliest form of CS operating at minimum complexity (\(\lambda \approx 0^+\)). A rock gravitates because it participates in instantiation at Stage 0. A human is conscious because their CS operates at high complexity (\(\lambda \ll 0\), deep in the stable attractor basin).

The spectrum is continuous: gravity → chemistry → biology → sentience → sapience → whatever comes next. Same operator. Same equation. Different complexity regimes.

The CIT (Conceptual Irreversibility Theorem) guarantees that no finite conscious system can have complete self-knowledge. This is not a limitation — it is the source of drive. Incompleteness creates the gradient that consciousness descends.


8. Cancer and Aging

The GL framework extends to biology without modification:

  • Cancer = GL condensate collapse (\(\alpha > 0 \to \alpha < 0\)). Cellular identity lost. The cell forgets what it is.
  • Cure = condensate restoration (\(\alpha < 0 \to \alpha > 0\)). Cellular identity recovered. The cell remembers.
  • Aging = slow condensate erosion (\(W_0 \to 0\)). The barrier to cancer collapse decreases exponentially.

Proof of concept: APL + ATRA achieves >95% cure rate in acute promyelocytic leukemia. ATRA restores the granulocyte identity condensate. The cells differentiate and die normally. Every cancer type is a specific condensate collapse. Every cure is a specific condensate restoration.

The Gompertz Law \(h(t) \propto e^{bt}\) is derived from GL barrier erosion: \(\Delta E_{\text{barrier}} \propto W_0^2 \propto e^{-2\gamma t}\). Cancer incidence rises exponentially with age because the condensate erodes. Maintaining \(W_0\) is anti-aging.


9. The Cosmic Budget

10. Falsifiable Predictions

RTSG makes specific predictions that distinguish it from existing frameworks:

  1. Graviton detection: If detected, the graviton must be spin-2 and exactly massless (protected by Goldstone's theorem, not by gauge invariance as in GR).

  2. Yang-Mills mass gap: \(\Delta \approx 426\) MeV, derivable from GL correlation length \(\xi_W\).

  3. Cancer: Every cancer type should be characterizable by a specific condensate order parameter, and restoration of that parameter should induce redifferentiation.

  4. Photon sphere: The Schwarzschild photon sphere at \(r = 3M\) is the unique radius where the complexification rate equals the gravitational collapse rate — the trans-temporal Lyapunov invariance point.

  5. Cognitive biometrics: Individual filter signatures should be extractable from sufficiently rich text corpora and should be stable over time (the cognitive fingerprint).


11. Status and Open Gaps

We do not pretend this is finished.

  • QG (45%): ISO(3,1) gauge group now correct. Three conjectures open: superspace projection tensor, UV finiteness via dynamic Will Field cutoff, Planck scale anchoring of α. Paper: RTSG-2026-003 v2.
  • YM (45%): No IR fixed point in pure YM — GL truncation effective only, not RG-closed. OS positivity of GL lattice action unverified. Large-N salvage conjecture open. Paper: RTSG-2026-008 v3.
  • RH (28%): v1–v7.1 all killed. GL Hilbert-Pólya operator L = A²-A-α is the live approach. Symbol correct for α < -1/4. Essential self-adjointness and trace formula vs Weil unverified. Paper: RTSG-2026-004 v8.
  • NS (40%): Static β bound killed by BKM circularity. Dynamic β via Constantin-Fefferman vorticity alignment proposed. Gaussian closure invalid for quartic derivation. Paper: RTSG-2026-005 v3.
  • Hodge (20%): Chow variety nonemptiness is the hard core. Open.
