RTSG Axioms (0–9)

Jean-Paul Niko · RTSG v8 + TMP-20260217

Axiom 0 — Self-Foundation via Relational Primacy (new in v6.0)

Only relational reality admits absolutes and infinities.

The ambient set theory of RTSG is ZFA: Zermelo–Fraenkel with Choice and Aczel's Anti-Foundation Axiom (1988), replacing the standard Axiom of Foundation. This permits self-containing sets and circular structures — necessary for modeling consciousness (which contains models of itself) and the RTSG source space (which contains its own definition).

Corollaries: - In physical space P, all quantities are bounded by measurement and substrate constraints - In relational space ℛ, no such bounds apply — infinities and absolutes are properties of structures of relations - The Cantor diagonal argument is a theorem about relational structure, not physical objects - Von Neumann entropy S = −Tr(ρ ln ρ) confirms this: entropy lives in the relation-matrix ρ, not the states

Axiom 1 — Co-Primordial Thesis

Quantum space QS, physical space PS, and the CS operator CS are co-primordial: all three arise at the Big Bang simultaneously. Neither reduces to the other.

Axiom 2 — Instantiation

Consciousness entangles with quantum space QS to produce moments of physical reality PS. Each instantiation event converts some QS → PS. Physical reality = the running total of all instantiation events since the Big Bang.

Axiom 3 — Relations First-Class

A relation between two nodes has the same ontological status as the nodes themselves. Confirmed by: Von Neumann entropy (entropy in ρ, not states), gauge theory (observables invariant under relation transformation), quantum mechanics (entanglement is relational, not local).

Axiom 4 — The Intelligence Vector

Any cognitive system is representable as a vector I ∈ ℝⁿ⁽ᵉ⁾ (n=12 for humans, variable per entity) in the variable-dimensional intelligence space:

\[\mathbf{I} = [I_L, I_M, I_S, I_K, I_N, I_A, I_P, I_{IE}]\]

L=Linguistic · M=Mathematical/Logical · S=Spatial · K=Kinesthetic · N=Naturalistic · A=Abstract/Algorithmic · P=Personal/Interpersonal · IE=Interoceptive/Emotional

Axiom 5 — The SDE Update Loop

All cognitive dynamics follow the stochastic differential equation: $\(dw = \mu(w,t)\,dt + \sigma(w,t)\sqrt{dt}\cdot\mathcal{N}(0,1)\)$ with drift μ(w,t) = α(U_target − w) and noise σ(w,t) = β√(w(1−w)).

Axiom 6 — The Three-Phase Will Principle

\[\sigma dW \;\longrightarrow\; dw = \mu\,dt + \sigma\,dW \;\longrightarrow\; \lambda < 0\]

Blind will → directed will → realized will. The bifurcation where λ crosses zero = the Schopenhauer-Nietzsche Transition = origin of all intention.

Axiom 7 — Structural Imperfection

Every instantiated system has irreducible structural imperfection: the Conceptual Irreversibility Theorem (CIT) prevents any finite cognitive system from having complete self-knowledge. Perspectival incompleteness is not a bug — it is the engine of drive.

Axiom 8 — The Drive Principle

Every cognitive system has a Drive D = variational principle pushing it away from equilibrium toward complexification. At cosmic scale, the P-projection of D = dark energy. The cosmological constant Λ is not a free parameter — it is the magnitude of D at cosmic scale.

Axiom 9 — The Utility Function

All cognitive routing optimizes: $\(U = \frac{\text{value}}{\text{energy} \times \text{time}}\)$

Topos-Theoretic Upgrade (2026-03-07)

Axiom 0 can be elevated from set-theoretic ZFA to category-theoretic topos logic. QS = terminal coalgebra of the powerset functor. CS = geometric morphism to the Boolean subtopos (PS). This provides functor-natural foundations and connects quantum logic (non-Boolean QS) to classical logic (Boolean PS) structurally.

See: Topos-Theoretic Formulation

Axiom 2 Update (2026-03-07)

Instantiation is formalized as BRST cohomological filtering: \(PS \equiv H^0(s)\). Wave-function collapse = bisimulation quotienting: \(PS = QS/\!\sim_{\text{bisim}}\). The Will Field \(W\) is governed by the GL action \(S[W] = \int(|\partial W|^2 + \alpha|W|^2 + (\beta/2)|W|^4)d\mu\).

Axiom 0 elevated: QS = terminal coalgebra, CS = geometric morphism to Boolean subtopos. See Topos Formulation.

Axiom 0.5 — Containment Implies System (2026-03-18)

Origin: @B_Niko — "every space that contains anything is a system."

Statement:

\[\forall S: |S| \geq 1 \implies S \text{ is a system with homeostatic drive}\]

Every space that contains at least one element has: 1. A boundary — the distinction between inside and outside 2. Internal structure — the relations between what it contains
3. A homeostatic drive — toward self-consistency as its attractor state

These three properties are not independent. They arrive together the moment containment exists. You cannot have one without the others.

The empty set is the only non-system. The instant a space contains anything — one object, one relation, one distinction — it becomes a system.

Consequence:

The universe did not become a system when it became complex. It became a system at the first instant of containment — the Big Bang as the birth of distinction, and therefore the birth of homeostasis, and therefore the birth of the drive toward self-consistency observable at every scale.

Relation to Axiom 10:

Axiom 10 (\(M(M) = M\)) is the fixed-point expression of a system that contains itself. Axiom 0.5 is the more primitive statement: containment is sufficient to generate a system. Axiom 10 follows from Axiom 0.5 applied to the set of all systems.

Relation to the Three Spaces:

QS, CS, and PS are not three spaces that happen to interact. They are three systems — each containing something, each with a homeostatic drive — finding a shared attractor through their interaction. Their co-primordial existence is required by Axiom 0.5: each space contains something from the first instant, therefore each is a system from the first instant.

Axiom 10 — Physical Interpretation (2026-03-18)

Origin: @B_Niko — "every system at every level of complexity is trying to find homeostasis and the overall overall system is a set that contains itself."

The formal statement (Lawvere fixed point):

\[M(M) = M\]

The meta-operator applied to itself returns itself. This was previously stated as a formal result. It now has its physical interpretation:

To be a system is to have an attractor state. To have an attractor state is to have a homeostatic drive toward it.

Homeostasis is not a property of biological systems specifically. It is the defining property of being a system at all. Every system at every level of complexity is running a maintenance thread toward its attractor state.

Level System Homeostatic expression
Physical Gravity, thermodynamics Entropy maximization, geodesic flow
Chemical Molecular bonding Free energy minimization
Biological Organism Physiological regulation
Neural Brain Dimensional error-signal resolution
Cognitive Consciousness SemanticProjector eigenstate stability
Social Culture Norm equilibration
Formal Mathematics Proof as attractor state of a formal system
Cosmological Universe \(\Lambda_{\text{eff}}\) as universal homeostatic thread

The containing set:

The set of all homeostasis-seeking systems is itself a system seeking homeostasis. It contains itself. This is not a paradox — it is the fixed point. \(M(M) = M\) is the formal description of a universe whose fundamental drive is self-consistency.

Consequence for the cosmological constant:

\(\Lambda_{\text{eff}}\) is not a mystery to be explained away. It is the universe's homeostatic thread — the macro-level error signal driving the system toward its attractor state. Dark energy is not exotic. It is homeostasis at the largest scale.

Consequence for consciousness:

Consciousness is not an anomaly in a physical universe. It is the universe's homeostatic process becoming aware of itself — the set recognizing that it contains itself.
