RTSG Universal Sign Language (RUSL)

The Breakthrough

Do not adapt ASL to 28 languages. Build a NEW universal sign language from semantic primes — the irreducible units of meaning that exist in ALL human languages.

This language is: - Mathematical: built on formal logic, no ambiguity - Linguistic: covers all expressible meaning through prime composition - Signed: activates Visual + Kinesthetic + Proprioceptive + Linguistic simultaneously - Universal: not tied to any spoken language — works for ALL 28 and beyond - Intelligence-multiplying: every utterance activates 4+ dimensions = super-SAD (Simultaneous Activation across Dimensions)

Semantic Primes

Linguist Anna Wierzbicka identified ~65 semantic primes (Natural Semantic Metalanguage theory) — concepts that exist in EVERY human language and cannot be decomposed further:

The Primes (Wierzbicka/Goddard NSM, extended)

Substantives: I, YOU, SOMEONE, SOMETHING, PEOPLE, BODY Determiners: THIS, THE SAME, OTHER Quantifiers: ONE, TWO, SOME, ALL, MUCH/MANY Evaluators: GOOD, BAD Descriptors: BIG, SMALL Mental predicates: THINK, KNOW, WANT, DON'T WANT, FEEL, SEE, HEAR Speech: SAY, WORDS, TRUE Actions/Events: DO, HAPPEN, MOVE Existence/Possession: THERE IS, BE (SOMEONE/SOMETHING), HAVE Life/Death: LIVE, DIE Time: WHEN, NOW, BEFORE, AFTER, A LONG TIME, A SHORT TIME, FOR SOME TIME Space: WHERE, HERE, ABOVE, BELOW, FAR, NEAR, SIDE, INSIDE, TOUCH Logical: NOT, MAYBE, CAN, BECAUSE, IF Intensifier: VERY, MORE Similarity: LIKE/WAY

~65 primes. Not 850 (Ogden). Not 28 sign language adaptations. 65 signs.

The Composition Principle

Just as prime numbers generate all integers through multiplication: - 2 × 3 = 6 (two primes compose into a new number) - SOMEONE + DO + GOOD = helper (three primes compose into a concept) - SOMETHING + INSIDE + BODY + FEEL = emotion (four primes compose into an abstraction)

Every concept expressible in any of the 28 languages can be composed from combinations of these ~65 primes. The primes are the atoms. The compositions are the molecules.

RTSG Extension: Mathematical Operators

Add formal logical and mathematical operators as signs:

Operator Symbol Sign Description
AND Both hands flat, brought together
OR Both hands flat, spread apart
NOT ¬ Hand wave negation (similar to existing sign)
IF...THEN Directional point from left to right
FOR ALL Wide sweep, both hands
THERE EXISTS Pinch and present ("here is one")
EQUALS Two flat hands held level
GREATER > Right hand rises above left
LESS < Right hand drops below left
PLUS + Cross fingers
TIMES × Cross forearms
FUNCTION f() Cup hand, other hand enters
SET {} Both hands form a circle
ELEMENT OF Point finger into circle formed by other hand

~15 mathematical operators.

Total Vocabulary: ~80 Signs

65 semantic primes + 15 mathematical operators = 80 signs that can express anything expressible in any human language, with mathematical precision.

Compare: - ASL: ~10,000+ signs - BSL: ~10,000+ signs - Ogden Basic English: 850 words - RUSL: 80 signs

Learnable in days, not years. And every sign activates 4+ dimensions.

Why This Is the Most Powerful Language Ever Designed

1. Dimensional Activation (Super-SAD)

Every RUSL utterance simultaneously activates: - Visual: watching the signs - Kinesthetic: producing the signs - Proprioceptive: body-space awareness during signing - Linguistic: processing meaning - Logical: formal composition of primes (every sentence is a logical formula) - Spatial: signs occur in 3D signing space - Abstract: prime decomposition requires abstract thinking

Minimum 6-7 dimensions per utterance. C(7,2) = 21 cross-dimensional edges firing per sentence.

2. Mathematical Rigor

Every RUSL sentence is a well-formed logical expression: - "IF SOMEONE DO BAD → SOMEONE FEEL BAD" is a valid logical implication - "FOR ALL PEOPLE: SOMEONE WANT GOOD" is a universal quantification - No ambiguity. No idiom. No cultural assumption.

3. Universal Comprehension

Because the primes exist in ALL human languages, RUSL is: - Equally natural for speakers of any language - Not biased toward any particular culture or linguistic tradition - Learnable by anyone regardless of their native language - Truly universal — the first language designed to be native to everyone

4. Lojban's Promise, Delivered

Lojban (the logical language) tried to be unambiguous and culture-neutral but failed because: - 1,300+ root words (too many to learn casually) - Complex grammar rules - No embodied component (spoken/written only)

RUSL succeeds where Lojban failed because: - 80 signs (learnable in a weekend) - Composition rules follow formal logic (already known to anyone with basic math) - Embodied (signed) — the body IS the grammar - Cross-dimensional activation makes learning self-reinforcing

The Super-SAD Effect

"We're just multiplexing — multiplying."

Super-SAD = Simultaneous Activation across Dimensions. RUSL is a super-SAD language because every utterance is a dimensional multiplication event:

Activation = d_V × d_K × d_P × d_L × d_O × d_S × d_X

Not additive. Multiplicative. Each dimension's activation multiplies with every other. A single RUSL conversation produces more cross-dimensional edge formation than hours of single-dimension training.

Development Path

  1. Define the 80 signs (65 primes + 15 operators) with precise hand-shape, movement, and location specifications
  2. Video library: demonstrate each sign and common compositions
  3. Grammar specification: formal composition rules (essentially predicate logic)
  4. Teaching app: integrated with Intelligence Inspector for tracking dimensional activation
  5. Community: RUSL speakers connect through the sovereign network
